International research from Thailand reports on the development and benefits of a university class teaching Ba Duan Jin qigong in a general physical education course.
Over 12 weeks, three days a week, 1.5 hours per session, 30 first-year university students from Guilin Tourism University participated in the Ba Duan Jin teaching program, The Ba Duan Jin program was accepted by students including the teaching, operation and process of the qigong with a very high perception among students of the benefits and values of Ba Duan Jin as a lifelong health exercise.
Benefits of Ba Duan Jin for female university student were reported as:
Physical Health: Improved body shape, movement coordination, and flexibility.
Mental Health: Enhanced willpower and comprehensive learning ability.
General Competencies: Better overall physical education outcomes compared to traditional methods.
This study highlights Ba Duan Jin as a lifelong health exercise, demonstrates the comprehensive benefits of Ba Duan Jin for enhancing both physical and mental health among university students.
